WHO IS SMARTSHEET?
Smartsheet Inc. is a company headquartered in Bellevue, Washington that develops and markets Smartsheet, a software as a service offering for collaboration and work management. Smartsheet is used to assign tasks, track project progress, manage calendars, share documents, and manage other work, using a tabular user interface.
WHAT IS RESOURCE MANAGEMENT?
Formerly 10,000ft, Resource Management by Smartsheet (RM) is a resource planning solution that helps businesses across all industries find and schedule the right people for every project, track and manage time, and forecast hiring needs to better plan for growth. RM provides its users robust people profile management, scheduling, time tracking, and reporting capabilities.
THE PROBLEM
Businesses and organizations need to find and schedule their human and financial capital for the tasks they take on. Doing so impacts their time management, hiring needs, and preparation for growth. There must be a tool to aid in resource management to solve this need. Our sponsor aims to provide intelligent recommendations for staffing work across their customer organizations. We want to leverage resourcing data to optimize the utilization of human capital, better predict resource demand for future projects, and reduce dependency on human intervention.
Our Solution

We provide our sponsor with a product specification that highlights key insights into their problem space and illustrates a solution and desired end state.

Meet the Team
Project Manager
Allison Geary
Allison is a graduating senior at the University of Washington's iSchool studying Informatics with a focus on Human-Computer Informatics and a minor in Drama Performance. She will be starting in Seattle at Accenture Interactive as a full-time Interactive Development Analyst in the fall.
Business Analyst
Ashley Vo
Ashley is a graduating senior studying Informatics at the Information School and Information Systems and Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Foster School of Business. This summer, she will join Deloitte Consulting in Seattle as an Analyst.
UX Designer / Data Analyst
Maria Matlick
Maria is a graduating senior studying Informatics with a dual concentration in Data Science and Human-Computer Interaction. She is also minoring in Environmental Science and Terrestrial Resource Management. On this project, Maria was one of the UX designers in charge of leading the ideation and prototyping processes as well as the user testing of our prototypes. Post-graduation, she will be working as a Data Engineer for Slalom Build here in Seattle.

Teagan is a graduating senior at the University of Washington, double-majoring in Informatics and Mechanical Engineering. After graduating, she will be moving to New York to join EY as a Technology Consultant.
